In tanti se ne stanno accorgendo, pochi ne parlano: il mercato discografico è in cambiamento (negativo o positivo?) in questi ultimi anni.
A dire il vero lo è sempre stato, con novità, proposte, cambi di direzione. Ma tutto questo portava l’ascoltatore\acquirente ad una scelta forse più vasta, soddisfacente e consapevole.
In particolar modo gli ultimi anni invece (dall’ultimo periodo pre-pandemia ad oggi), la situazione è diventata più caotica, malata, assurda. Spieghiamo ora il perché.
Dopo di noi anche molti clienti ed acquirenti si sono accorti di alcune cose in particolare:
- L’aumento del costo dei vinili (e ora anche sensibilmente dei CD!);
- La scomparsa di moltissimi titoli su CD (anche intere discografie!);
- La pubblicazione di cofanetti monumentali dai costi molto elevati.
Giustamente le domande sorgono spontanee:
- Perché tutti questi aumenti ? (le motivazioni ufficiali non stanno in piedi!)
- Perché non esistono titoli su CD ancora richiestissimi?
- Chi ha la possibilità di spendere certe cifre?
La triste risposta sta in un semplice discorso commerciale\economico: le case discografiche vorrebbero veicolare tutto sul digitale e lo sfruttamento delle edizioni.
Perché? Molto semplice: tutto guadagno, niente difettosi, niente resi, nessun magazzino pieno di merce.
Contemporaneamente vogliono cavalcare l’onda vinilica: questa nuova moda che non è altro che la scoperta dell’acqua calda, di cui si fa un gran parlare da diversi anni per riempire articoli di giornale, pagine web e convincere la gente che il mercato ora è questo.
Ma per chi come noi vende i formati fisici e cerca di accontentare i clienti senza solo seguire le mode, i dati di tutto questa “finta realtà” sono ben diversi!
Tanto per cominciare anche il vinile NON era mai sparito come facevano credere alla fine degli anni ‘90/inizio 2000, ma non se ne parlava in quanto in quel periodo “storico” il CD la faceva da padrone e parlare di vinile non era di moda. Ora la situazione si è ribaltata: nonostante i grandi numeri di vendite di dischi in vinile, la richiesta di CD (soprattutto negli ultimi 2 anni) è aumentata, ma non se ne parla perché non è di moda e alla case discografiche non fa comodo. Infatti sono aumentati i numeri dei CD soprattutto nel settore dell’usato e da collezione in quanto molti\troppi titoli non sono più disponibili come articolo nuovo.
Dulcis in fundo, la filosofia delle case discografiche in questo momento è: “Dobbiamo continuare a stampare i formati fisici? Allora dobbiamo guadagnarci tanto!”
Tutto quanto sopra raccontato è valido ovviamente per la major; le piccole etichette fortunatamente funzionano ancora abbastanza alla “vecchia maniera”!
Speriamo solo che nel frattempo il mercato non collassi!
